So there’s this pot rack the previous owner left behind. To be fair, she asked if I wanted to keep it. For some reason… I said yes.
It’s not the prettiest looking thing in the world. It hangs on an angle most days. Plus, the haphazard installation has me in constant fear of having it crash down while someone in standing near it. Who’s trying to get sued? Nope. Doesn’t help that our cookware has seen better days (we’re working on that!)
Problem is… what do we replace it with? We aren’t exactly overflowing with storage options in the kitchen. One of my goals is to eventually make this kitchen as efficient as possible. Try to make the most out of every single nook and cranny. In the meantime, I fell in love with the idea of open shelving in this space. These pretty spaces helped move that idea along.
One thing about open shelving that scares me is that when things get messy… closing the door isn’t an option. So I definitely have to figure out how we can best use this space, keep it clutter-free with little to no maintenance. The bestie is renovating her kitchen and plans on doing only open shelving. If you’re a naturally neat person like she is you can do crazy things like that.
