work&play day.

Peplum tops and magenta-colored trousers. Staples? Maybe not for everyone but I wouldn’t mind adding them to my arsenal. Currently my commute leaves me completely drained when I get home. Cook? Clean? Ugh, how about a nap instead? Nevermind falling asleep randomly around the car/house when I get home (don’t worry, we carpool), an invite to go out for happy hour? You better hope I’m not home yet. At which point there’s two dilemmas: 1) did I remember to turn my phone ringer back on after work and is it loud enough to wake me up and 2) can I wear whatever I collapsed in or will this require a change of clothes? Either way, good luck! (Sorry Gin)

Naturally I’ve been thinking about how the versatility of my wardrobe plays into this scenario. I’ve spoken before about how I’d like to “have” to dress up for work, so I think both of the outfits above can naturally transition from work to play. The DATE NIGHT outfit would have the shoes switched out for flat sandals if work requires a good amount of footwork. The WORK DAY outfit can be played up with accessories. Now the key is to not pass out somewhere along the way.

Speaking of accessories, why am I JUST NOW finding out about the BaubleBar?! Somebody dropped the ball!

Work Day // Top: Topshop, Pant: Diane Von Furstenburg, Shoes: Sergio Rossi (similar here) , Bag: Hermes (similar here)

Date Night // Top: Rebecca Taylor, Pant: Diane Von Furstenburg , Shoes: Giuseppe Zanotti, Bag: Kate Spade
